You may throw all Beijing \'blue blistering barnacles\' (remember Captain H*** in theTintin comic!) my way but I\'ll still hold my ground, look you in the face and tell you what I don\'t like! Some men take advantage of the \'men-are-as-old-as-they-think; women-are-as-old-as-they-look\' saying. They \'know\' that looks to women are like shells to snails they will go to great lengths to preserve their youth (at least for their \'prince charming\'!). You still don\'t get the drift of this piece. Let me explain. I know of some men who have courted young, beautiful women. But after about two or so years they broke up with them for reasons best known to them. The while the courtship lasted, the ladies built so much hope in being married by the men that shared their lives. The sad thing here is that the men were all the while not serious with \'their\' ladies. They just lied through their teeth that the relationship would end up in walking down the aisle to consummate their \'fiery\' love. But the converse of that was true all the while. Put yourself in these ladies\' shoes. Having put all their years and energies into the one thing that they thought would work, they are totally broken when the bombshell is exploded on their laps: \"It\'s over between us; It just couldn\'t work; You were not the one for me; I made a wrong turn in the road of life; I think I now know where I am headed and you just don\'t fit in the bigger picture.\" This is very \'brutal\', to say the least. Why couldn\'t you just tell the truth as it were before the bud blossomed into a flower. Yes, you knew it all along that all you wanted were the stolen moments with the lass. You should have painted this aim in black and white before things became \'major\' between you. It would go something like this: Man: I don\'t foresee us walking down the aisle. I just want you by my side to satiate my ego and sexual desires. What do you think? Woman: Thank you for being upfront with me. Most men wouldn\'t do half as much. But no, I don\'t wish to be party to your whims. Talk of being true and never coming to rue! Men, if you don\'t wish to marry a lady with whom you have entered into courtship, then let the lady know. Anyone in the world By Nick Young It is funny that, how he always seems to want to do stuff on his own or with his mates. Never with you and the kids. Does it take a heap of bargaining to get him to spend a day with you.
Not a good basis for a happy relationship do you think. Unless of course you prefer it that way rather than have him around getting in your way. Then you hardly have a basis for a relationship or hardly a relationship at all. The kids don\'t have a father either so the whole situation is a bit disfunctional don\'t you think. What do you want out of this relationship. You have to be very clear of that first. If you want a \'normal\' relationship where you spend most of your time together and have fun doing it then it is time for a few changes. We must determine why he would rather spend his free time with someone else. Not that we are saying that you are not fun to be around but just look at things in an honest light here. Are you fun to be around. Do you always give him a hard time over all sorts of stuff when you are together. Are you always on his back to get something done or mow the grass or fix something. Do the kids run wild and drive him mad when he is there. There has to be a reason that he prefers to go out. If you want him to change you are going to have to make it worth his while. Maybe he doesn\'t deserve that but someone has to make the sacrifice to get some changes happening. Is it worth it to you. Think about that. Do you want him home with you and the kids as a family. Do you want to do stuff together every weekend as a family. Do you want him to look forward to getting home with you and just loving spending time with you. If you want all those things then you have decided to make that sacrifice. Make it a definate decision. It is not going to happen overnight but is is a goal you can work towards. What can you do, what can you change. Lets start with the basics. New hairdo. Lose some weight. Get fit and get some new gear. Try some lingerie and some trendy gear and look sexy again. Take some pride in your looks and you will start to feel better about yourself. As your confidence comes back you can start to change your atitude towards him. Take the lead sexually for a change. Watch his eye brows raise when you do that. Try yout new lingerie at the same time. Meet him at the door when he gets home dressed to kill. Spoil him with your meal preparation and generally make him feel good. Now, he may not deserve all this and he probably doesn\'t but you have to make the decision to do it anyway and just let it happen. It will take a little time but he will start to enjoy being home again. His attitude will change and then all that sacrificing on your part will start to pay off. He will be yours again and enjoying it and doing all the right things towards you. That work on your part will be all worthwhile. Anyone in the world By Michael Russell In this second of a two part series we\'re going to discuss Japanese Buddhist funeral customs continuing with the wake. The next part of the Buddhist service is the wake. The service is presided over by a Priest. The Priest arrives at the location of the wake and is given green tea. At this time he speaks with the family to go over any last minute details. During this time the guests arrive and take their seats on the floor if at the home or in chairs if at a funeral home. After everyone has arrived, the Priest turns to the altar, bows, lights incense and begins to read a sutra. During this reading the Priest gives a signal to the family to rise and go to the incense urn. From there they bow, offer up some incense, bow again and then return to their seats. After the family members are finished doing this, the remainder of the guests repeat the ritual until everyone has done so. The Priest then finishes the sutra at which time everyone bows at the altar and the wake service ends. Depending on the Buddhist sect that the members belong to they may then chant a \"mantra\". This is done in unison. Even after the wake service is over, guests will continue to arrive in order to pay their respects. It is customary and proper for all guests to either attend the wake service, the wake itself or the funeral, but not all three. The family then gives each guest a present to show them their gratitude for coming. That night the family stays in the same room with the deceased. In some sects a person who is not a blood relative of the deceased, like a son in law, may be asked to stay with the deceased for the evening. In other sects each next of kin takes turns staying with the deceased. After the wake, the night before, is the funeral service itself the next day. At that time the body is transported to the temple and placed in front of the altar. A wooden tablet with the deceased name is placed in front of the altar. The name is assigned and inscribed by the Priest. It should be noted that the name given by the Priest could be different from the name the person had in life. When it comes time to perform the service the Priest reads the sutra and part way through gives a signal to offer up the incense. This part of the service is the same as at the wake service, with each person taking part. The Priest then finishes reading the sutra and the people bow as he leaves the room. A representative of the family thanks the guests for coming after the Priest leaves. After the people leave the casket is sealed. From there the body is taken to the crematorium where the body is cremated in what some consider a rather gruesome service where the body is partially burned, then taken out so that chop sticks can be placed with the body before cremation continues. After which, the bones, ashes and what\'s left of the chop sticks are placed in an urn and given to the family.
