In 2002 AHEC of Southern Nevada received funding by the Children's Trust Fund to establish Prevent Child Abuse Nevada (PCA) is a chapter of the national organization Prevent Child Abuse America. PCA Nevada provides prevention services statewide to professionals, children, parents, and the community at large. The state chapter also provides advocacy, support, and outreach to agencies and organizations that provide direct services to children and families.

Our goal: to coordinate child abuse prevention efforts throughout the state. Our mission: to prevent child abuse and neglect in all its forms.

Nevada has an array of resources to address child maltreatment, but these vital services are scattered. The PCA Nevada chapter coordinates statewide child abuse prevention efforts and activities and provides legislative advocacy for child abuse prevention. As part of its ongoing efforts to represent all of Nevada, PCA partners with children's service providers, community organizations, and individuals throughout the state to address the needs of both rural and urban communities. PCA Nevada coordinates a statewide Child Abuse Prevention Month Campaign, "Pinwheels for Prevention" every April.
