February 29, 2008 - Ricin Poisoning in Las Vegas, NV

Las Vegas, NV- In a local area hospital a man is in critical condition from Ricin poisoning, vials found in his hotel room confirm the rare poison. The Las Vegas Police Department is not considering this an act of terrorism but continue to follow-up on leads as they develop. Read Full Release

In 2006 Washoe County reported an estimated 2,403 cases of textbook child abuse with an estimated 28.5% of the cases substantiated, however, it is not always drug and alcohol related or physical abuse; it can be absolute criminal negligence and parental disregard.
